******* !!! Summer reading book cost down 43% !!! *******
Did you know that the Barrington PTA purchases the summer reading books for incoming grades 1-4?
And when I say “Barrington PTA” what I really mean is YOU give us the ABILITY to buy them through YOUR fundraising and donations!
To honor those funds, we do hours of research to get the very BEST price. We want EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY. to be utilized the BEST WAY POSSIBLE.
This year we partnered directly with Scholastic for a special program called FAMILY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT. It’s a free program but you had to apply! This program allows schools to get DEEPLY DISCOUNTED books as well as other valuable reading resources.
Our usual spend on summer reading is $2,500.00. This year we were able to get all the summer reading books we needed for $1,421.20!!!
Thank you to the Scholastic Chairs, Jennifer Chesno and Carrie Neill and to Diane Messer, Reading Specialist, for taking the time to organize this effort!
That’s a lot of margaritas! Thank you from the bottom of our glasses…I mean hearts. Hearts.
‘Tis the season people! The Barrington PTA’s Annual Pancakes with Santa event is upon us!
Find the official event on our Facebook page under our “Events” section and be sure to click “interested”or “going” to get all of the updates to the event as they come in!
Event Registration Flyers (everyone’s favorite things to fish out of your kids backpacks, right?!) will be going home this week!
“Some of us are crying
Teary-eyed and blue.
Some of us are cheering,
because we are so glad summer is through!
Whatever mood you’re feeling
Stop by and stay a while.
We’ll be here to greet you with
A coffee and a smile!”
Come over to the REC after dropping off your kiddo, whether at school or at the bus stop, and get to mingle and meet with other parents! Children are also welcome at this event!
It’s a good opportunity to talk to other parents in your child’s class as well as in our community!
This event is designed for incoming Pre-K and Kindergarten parents to network with each other however parents of Elementary School students are MORE than welcome to stop by ~ the more the merrier!
Coffee and light refreshments will be served.
**Thank you to the REC for letting us use their space to host this event!**
RSVP’s aren’t mandatory in any way but will help give us an idea how much food and coffee to bring 🙂 If you don’t RSVP you are still welcome to stop by!
Hello Barrington parents!

Here is the fantastic schedule of events for BES:
Here is the marvelous schedule of events for the ECLC:
If you are looking for ways to volunteer, please see the links below. We are always looking for helping hands and there are so many ways to help out! We understand that not everyone has the time to come into the school during the day to assist so we have listed many ways to help that are outside of volunteering time. The teachers have wishlist items that they would love to have filled to help keep their classrooms running smoothly. There also is a breakfast on Monday at both schools for the teachers and staff and we need lots of yummy treats to keep our SUPERHEROES powered up!
